Craft Room & Cricut Sync - Stuck on "Intializing/Accessing Account"

If Craft Room gets stuck on "Initializing" or "Accessing Account" following the troubleshooting steps below. 

Stuck on Initializing

 

  • PC

    1. Ensure that your system meets the minimum recommended system requirements for using Cricut Craft Room or Cricut Sync. If it does, proceed to step 2. If it does not, attempt to use Craft Room or Cricut Sync on a system that does meet the minimum recommended requirements.
    2. Ensure that you are using the most recent build of Cricut Craft Room or Cricut Sync. If you need to update your software, you can download the most recent version here. If the software is up to date, or updating the software does not help, proceed to step 3. 
    3. Verify which operating system your computer is running: 
      • Windows XP: contact Customer Care through one of the options below for assistance. 
      • Windows 8 or later: try running Craft Room or Cricut Sync in "compatibility mode" for Windows 7 (instructions below). Then attempt to access Craft Room or Cricut Sync again. If this does not help, proceed to step 4.  
        • Right-click on the Craft Room icon on your desktop, or find it in your Programs folder and right-click on it. Select "Properties."
        • Select the "Compatibility" tab at the top of the window that appears. 
        • Put a check mark in the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for," then select Windows 7 from the drop-down menu. 
    4. Take steps to allow Cricut Craft Room or Cricut Sync through your Antivirus software and firewall. If this does not help, proceed to step 5.
    5. Uninstall both Craft Room or Cricut Sync and Adobe AIR from your computer. Once done, restart the computer.  Then reinstall Craft Room and Adobe AIR. 
    6. If this does not help, please contact Customer Care through one of the options below for assistance determining what could be blocking the program.
  • Mac
    1. Ensure that your system meets the minimum recommended system requirements for using Cricut Craft Room or Cricut Sync. If it does, proceed to step 2. If it does not, attempt to use Craft Room or Cricut Sync on a system that does meet the minimum recommended requirements.
    2. Ensure that you are using the most recent build of Cricut Craft Room or Cricut Sync. If you need to update your software, you can download the most recent version here. If the software is up to date, or updating the software does not help, proceed to step 3. 
    3. Disconnect the Cricut machine from your computer and complete a hard reset on the computer: 
      • Hold down the computer power button until the computer powers OFF. 
      • Then, hold down the computer power button until the computer powers ON and restarts. 
      • Then attempt to access Cricut Craft Room again. 
      • If this does not help, proceed to step 4. 
    4. If you have a 3rd party Antivirus software installed on your Mac, take steps to allow Cricut Craft Room or Cricut Sync through your Antivirus software and firewall. If this does not help, proceed to step 5. 
    5. Uninstall both Craft Room or Cricut Sync and Adobe AIR from your computer. Once done, restart the computer.  Then reinstall Craft Room and Adobe AIR.
