Stencil Vinyl: Cutting and Application Instructions

Cutting Cricut Stencil Vinyl with a Cricut Machine

  1. Place stencil material onto Cricut cutting mat. 
  2. Select and size images and load mat into the machine.
  3. Refer to Stencil Vinyl Kiss Cut Guide table below to adjust machine settings. A kiss cut is a cut that only goes through the stencil vinyl and leaves the liner intact. 
  4. Press CUT. 

 

Application Instructions

  1. Remove unwanted pieces from image using the hook found in the Cricut Tools Basic Set. This process is also known as weeding. 
  2. Remove from the liner by hand or with transfer tape and apply to project. 
  3. Burnish the stencil vinyl to remove air bubbles and seal it to the project. Burnishing is a rubbing or polishing action that uses a craft stick or the scraper found in the Cricut Tools Basic Set. 
  4. Paint or stain project, applying additional coats as necessary. Remove stencil vinyl when the project is dry.
