Window Cling: Cutting and Application Instructions

Cutting Window Cling with a Cricut Machine

  1. Position top left corner of window cling, liner side down, in top left corner of Cricut StandardGrip cutting mat; load mat into machine.
  2. Select images and size.
  3. Refer to the Window Cling Kiss Cut Guide table below to adjust machine settings. A kiss cut is a cut that only goes through the window cling and leave the liner intact.
  4. Press CUT.

For Cricut Craft Room or Design Space: If cutting an intricate image, be sure you have checked “Mirror image” in the mat preview screen (Design Space) or used the "Flip" tool (Craft Room). The Expression 2 machine also has a "mirror" option. This will allow you to use the window cling liner to transfer the cut image to a surface for ease of applying the design to your project surface.

Application

  1. Ensure that your project surface is clean and dry.
  2. Remove the negative pieces from each of the images using the weeder tool found in the Cricut Tools kit.
  3. Place part of the window cling on the surface and peel away the backing.  Alternatively, peel away liner and apply by hand.
  4. Burnish the window cling using the Cricut scraper, also found in the Cricut Tools Basic Set, to remove air bubbles.

If you choose to cut through both the window cling and the liner, you can use the same application steps above.
