Design Space Release Notes

This Design Space for Desktop Beta release (v9.65) includes backend improvements and features, and the following fixes.  

Note: This section will be updated when this release goes to production.  

Fixed field issues

This release:

• Fixed an issue causing Unite shape to alter color, size, and shape when copy/pasted in Design Space.  
• Fixed an issue causing applied Contour changes to show on Canvas but not on mat preview.  
• Closing the Shapes panel causing Images panel to open again has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing Preview to not load for a particular project.  
• Continuous green loader on inserting a line when auto-sticker is enabled has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing a user to be unable to upload HEIC and SVG images into Create AI.
• Fixed an issue on Mac causing inability to print when no printers are found.  
• Cart showing when user switches Design Space to a non-supported country for DTF has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing a delay and connection error when opening New Project in the Home page.  
• Fixed an issue causing Text and other object to not be positionable pas the 128 mark on the Canvas.  
• Fixed an issue causing AI-generated image to be nested in a group inside another group when it loads on Canvas.
• Fixed an issue causing Create AI image to appear to be cut off.  
• “Application Experience” option missing from Design Space settings, preventing users from switching between Beta and Live versions, has been fixed.  

The last 6 weeks:

Over the last 6 weeks we've fixed 61 software defects, including the following priority field issues and reliability concerns:

• Home option being visible on login page after signing out has been fixed.  
• Sticker tool removing the ability to save an image Upload and Edit has been fixed.  
• Machine picker getting enabled in DTF Canvas after opening a new Design Space window has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing “Size too small” warning to be missing when dimensions auto-update via locked aspect ratio.
• Aspect ratio lock not getting disabled, and no response upon clicking it when there is a size warning, has been fixed.  
• Mat selection getting greyed out for Cricut Joy Xtra machine in Stickers & Labels project has been fixed.
• Fixed an issue causing some Joy Xtra machines to fail to connect during new product setup.
• Fixed an issue causing “Update Firmware” button to appear instead of “Setup Machine” when is removed from Machine Picker and reconnected after downgrading machine firmware.
• Fixed an issue causing Advanced option in Color Swatch to close the popup instead of opening advanced color settings when Design Space window is minimized with left panel and Layers panel open.
• Fixed an issue causing image from project designer chat to be too big when added to the Canvas.
• Fixed an issue causing licensed content pop-up to not display for DTF projects when checking out with licensed content on the Canvas.
• Contributing Artists upload image details getting reset after navigating from Mat preview page has been fixed.
• Fixed an issue causing the size interstitial to not get displayed for any guided project flow after clicking back from Cardstock size interstitial.
• Fixed an issue causing Stickers & Labels project modal to show size boxes after clicking “Back” when Cricut Joy 2 machine is selected.
• Fixed an issue causing the Canvas to not get replaced with a new Canvas upon creating a New Project from the Canvas “New” button, also causing no new project types to get created after choosing them from the Home screen.
• Project type options not visible on the project selection modal when screen size is very small has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing the Image panel to not open after choosing the “Blank Canvas” project, also causing no project type to get created after we manually open the Image panel.  
• Image disappearing from Canvas but remaining visible in the Layers panel after applying and reverting Contour has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing “Setup machine” button to not get displayed on Mat preview screen when it should.
• Template title throwing “project unavailable” error message has been fixed.  
• DTF project flow – Pattern fill getting removed when copy/pasting pattern-filled image onto a DTF project Canvas has been fixed.  
• Footer of project selection modal getting hidden when in a smaller viewport has been fixed.
• Issue of green loader displaying continuously upon moving an image on Canvas once it has been added to the design area has been fixed.  
• Issue of checkout screen remaining blank while system fetches certain APIs has been fixed.  
• An issue causing live preview to not work has been fixed.  
• Sticker & Labels project: Mat selection being greyed out for Cricut Joy Xtra machines has been fixed.  
• Stickers & Labels project: Issue causing “Project preview could not load” message if images are partially placed outside the design area has been fixed.  
• “Connection failed” in Machine Picker - and unable to reconnect - after cancelling the new product setup has been fixed.  
• Templates panel not showing any templates – just loading ghost tiles – after saving any project with a template has been fixed.  
• Template dashboard showing empty tab name and empty column headers when in a non-English language has been fixed.  
• Issue causing “invalid design area size” message to NOT display when clicking “Make” from project details page, when design area size is not compatible with selected machine, has been fixed.
• Machine Bluetooth connection failing in new product setup flow has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue with Contributing Artist interface where dialogue box of Filter & Column picker are fixed in position when the template dashboard screen is scrolled down.
• Fixed an issue causing user to not be able to upload a single-layer cut image.  
• Project Incompatible warning being shown for a compatible project has been fixed.  
• Item too small banner warning not showing upon reopening the same saved project by clicking “Customize” or “Edit a copy” has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing an object’s operation to not reset upon closing Create Sticker without applying it.
• Fixed an Operation filtering issue where a popover component showed no Operation.
• Fixed a backed issue related to incorrect canvas ids following saving.  
• Save or Don’t Save pop-up not displaying for Blank Canvas projects has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue where AI images displaying “Too Small” warning even after resizing also resulted in being unable to save the project.
• Right-click menu for text/image appearing in error when right-clicking on panels has been fixed.
• Fixed an issue causing the out-of-box test cut for Cricut Joy Xtra to not cut on the provided material, and to display incorrect measurements, has been fixed.  
• "Project Incompatible" error displaying for Print Then Cut on clicking "Make" button when user is in Offline mode has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing Print Then Cut fiducials to be incorrectly displayed on sensor marks screen, and print incorrectly as well.  
• Load type selection modal being broken when switching machine type from Cricut Joy to Cricut Joy Xtra in mat preview has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing "Project Incompatible" modal to not appear when clicking Make on a Stickers & Labels project detail page, with Cricut Joy machine.

This Design Space for Desktop release (v9.63) includes backend improvements and the following features and fixes.  

AI Project Designer Chat — Revert Image

This improvement to AI Project Designer allows users to revisit and re-edit previously generated images in the AI Project Designer chat. The Re-edit option is available only when the chat includes more than one generated image.

AI Project Designer — Chat History

With this update, users can view AI Project Designer chat history. Chat history is read-only, but any generated images in the chat can still be added to the Canvas.  

AI Project Designer —  Add multiple Images to the same Canvas

This update to AI Project Designer lets users add multiple generated images from one chat to the same Canvas (instead of a new Canvas opening each time “Edit on Canvas” is selected).

• Contributing Artists upload image details getting reset after navigating from Mat preview page has been fixed.

• Machine connection modal in disconnected state when Firmware Update is needed has been fixed.
• Fixed an issue causing all project types - except Blank Canvas - to get "Project Unavailable" message upon clicking the project name to open the default project after adding a Template.
• Smart Guides not being filtered to the design area (trying to align with objects outside of design area) has been fixed.  
• Empty tiles showing when no results are found in a search query with "Bookmark" & "Upload" filters applied has been fixed.  
• Fixed an issue causing no error message when Insert Card > Customize uses a size not compatible with selected machine.  
• Fixed a backend issue related to Image panel calls occurring repeatedly in error.  
• Checkout page being blank when buying an image set form the Home tab has been fixed.  
• Explore 3 failing to reconnect via Bluetooth after switching connections across multiple Design Space windows has been fixed.  
• Product details page failing to display the "Invalid" design area modal warning for sizes that are not compatible with the selected machine has been fixed.
