This article applies to Cricut Explore 3, Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Joy, and Cricut Joy Xtra machines.
This is caused by interference to the mat/material sensors. Cleaning the sensors will help the machine realize it can stop checking for mat/material, and the rolling sequence will stop.
- Unplug your machine from power.
- Use compressed air or a microfiber cloth to clean the machine sensors.
On a Cricut Maker 3 or Cricut Explore 3 machine, there are two sensors: one behind the belt in the machine, and one in front of the roller bar in the machine, as shown in this photo.
Cricut Joy Xtra also has two sensors: one in front of the roller bar, and one behind the roller bar, as shown in this photo.
Cricut Joy has one sensor, located behind the roller bar, as shown in this photo.
If cleaning off the sensors did not fix the issue, contact Member Care for further assistance.
