- Cricut LightGrip machine mat
- Design Space software on a computer or mobile device
- Inkjet home printer** (capable of AirPrint/mobile printing if making from a mobile device)
- Compatible Cricut printable sticker material
- Brayer (optional – helps to smooth material onto machine mat)
Note: *Print Then Cut compatible machines include: Cricut Joy Xtra, any Cricut Explore model, any Cricut Maker model, and Cricut Venture. Cricut Joy is not capable of Print Then Cut.

Preparation
- Ensure your machine selection in Design Space is correct so you have all the right settings enabled for the machine you’ll be using.
- Complete a Print Then Cut calibration if you haven’t yet.
- Design Space will prompt you if a calibration is required, but you can also access calibration through Menu > Settings > Machines > Machine Calibration (on mobile: Menu > Settings > Print Then Cut Settings > Calibration).
- Check your printer’s instructions or print a test page on printer paper to ensure you know which way to load the printable side of the material.
Design and Print Then Cut
- Using any combination of images and text, create your sticker design in Design Space.
- When your design is ready, select all objects used in the sticker, then select Create Sticker from the toolbar. (On mobile: Edit > Create Sticker.)
Desktop
Mobile
- Choose Die Cut or Kiss Cut:
- Die Cut - cuts around your design all the way through the material and liner.
- Kiss Cut - cuts through the printable layer only, leaving the liner intact.
- You can choose to add a border (“offset”) around your design, and even choose a size and color for that border.
- When you select Kiss Cut, you have an option to add a Die Cut Edge – this adds an easy peel border that cuts all the way through the liner, so you can hand someone an individual sticker they can peel from the liner without issue.
- When you’ve made all your selections in Create Sticker, select Apply to lock in your selections.
- To make any adjustments, select your sticker, then choose the tool again (now labeled “Edit Sticker” when the selected object has Create Sticker already applied) and make any needed adjustments, or Undo Sticker.
- Select Make and follow the instructions in Design Space to print your design. If you have not yet completed the Print Then Cut calibration, you may be prompted to complete it at this point. Use regular printer paper and follow the on-screen prompts to complete Print Then Cut calibration. You can then continue with your sticker project.
Tip: To make multiples of the same sticker, use the Project Copies option on the Mat Preview to increase the number of stickers.
Note: For best results if your sticker design does not have a Border, turn off Bleed before printing.
- Select Browse All Materials, then select the setting that matches your specific material – materials compatible with Create Sticker will be listed under the Compatible tab. (On Cricut Explore Air 2 and older, turn the Smart Set dial to “Custom” first).
- Place your printed sticker material on Cricut LightGrip cutting mat and load into your machine. Ensure the page is oriented on the mat as it appears in Design Space.
- Press Go – your Cricut machine will scan for the Print Then Cut sensor markings, then cut your design out with precision.
- When the cut is complete, press Unload.
- Enjoy!
FAQ
What is Create Sticker?
Create Sticker is a new Cricut Access™ exclusive feature that lets you design custom printable stickers in just a few clicks! Just create your sticker designs using text, images, shapes, and even fun features like Warp or Monogram Maker, then select Create Sticker. It automatically makes your design printable and lets you quickly choose sticker-friendly cut options; no more fussing with Offset, Flatten, or Attach!
Note: Print Then Cut stickers are different from vinyl decals in that you first print your stickers on your home printer, then load the sheet into your Cricut machine for cutting.
What is the difference between a kiss and a die cut?
Kiss cut (B) cuts around your design through the sticker material only, leaving the liner intact. Die cut (A) cuts around your design all the way through both the sticker material and liner.
What does having a Die Cut Edge mean?
“Die cut edge” adds an easy-peel border that cuts all the way through the material backer in the shape of the sticker, so you can hand out individual stickers. A die cut sticker (A) without this die cut edge (B) is a little more challenging to remove from the liner.
What does it mean to Cut Interior Shapes?
This option finds the negative space in an image and cuts it out. For example, it makes it so that you can cut the inner circle out of a donut.
Do I need to use Offset or Flatten along with Create Sticker?
Nope! Create Sticker automatically flattens your design, and you can quickly add an offset right within Create Sticker by choosing to add a Border. Just be sure to select Apply to lock in your selections.
Which Cricut machines can I use with Create Sticker?
Create Sticker utilizes Print Then Cut, so you need one of these Print Then Cut compatible machines: Cricut Joy Xtra, any Cricut Explore model, any Cricut Maker model, and Cricut Venture. Cricut Joy is not capable of Print Then Cut.
What kind of printer is compatible with this feature?
Create Sticker is intended for use with Cricut printable sticker materials, which are for use with inkjet printers only. Using a laser printer may damage the materials or printer.
Is Create Sticker available on all Design Space platforms?
Yes, Create Sticker is available in Design Space for Desktop v8.15 and later, iOS® v5.50 and later, and Android™ v5.45 and later.
Do I need a Cricut Access subscription to use the Create Sticker feature?
Yes, anyone can preview the feature on Canvas and Mat Preview, but you need a Cricut Access subscription to cut. If you don’t have Cricut Access, start your free trial today!*

Is Create Sticker compatible with Cricut Waterproof Sticker Sets?
Yes! Just be sure to choose the material setting from the Compatible list that matches your specific material (e.g., holographic, transparent, white, etc.). For more information on how to use Cricut Waterproof Sticker Sets, visit this help article.
Can I use my own non-Cricut materials with Create Sticker?
We don’t recommend it. Cricut printable sticker materials listed as Compatible in Design Space have been thoroughly tested and work with Create Sticker. We cannot guarantee quality print or cut results on non-compatible materials.
Can I adjust the cut settings for compatible materials?
Yes! You can select “More” or “Less” pressure from the Kiss Cut and/or Die Cut pressure drop downs on the cut screen.
Desktop
Mobile
You can also adjust these settings through Custom Material Settings. Visit this help article to learn more about using Custom Material Settings.
Can I save my material cut settings for sticker materials?
Design Space doesn’t remember the “More” or “Less” pressure selection between cuts, but you can save adjustments to compatible material settings through the Custom Material Settings area. Visit this help article to learn more about using Custom Material Settings.
Note: “Remember materials settings” on the cut screen remembers your settings between mats of the current project only. It does not save them for future projects.
Why can’t I duplicate my sticker on the Canvas after applying Create Sticker?
Right now, duplicating a Create Sticker object on Canvas is disabled. We recommend duplicating your sticker design, if needed, before applying Create Sticker effects. Additionally, you can increase Project Copies on Mat Preview to create multiples of the same sticker.

Why does Create Sticker have a Beta tag?
We are confident in our algorithm, but we are still working to optimize the feature. With more people using the feature we can gather data on how it’s performing and make needed improvements.
Troubleshooting
Design Space can’t find my machine when I proceed to Make, or my machine is not in the list of devices when I attempt to pair it via Bluetooth.
If you’re using a Windows 11 computer, or a Mac computer running macOS Sonoma (v14.0+), and attempting to use your Cricut machine via Bluetooth, you may have to complete an additional step for your computer to allow Design Space to use Bluetooth. Visit these help articles for assistance:
