This Design Space for Desktop release (v8.49) includes the following features and fixes.
Adding Images and Shapes on the Canvas
We’ve made it easier to add images and shapes while working on the Canvas! Here’s how to use the new panels:

Open the Panels
- On the Canvas, click the Images or Shapes icons on the left.
- A panel will open, showing all the images or shapes you can add.

Adding to Your Canvas
- Search or browse through the panel and click on the images or shapes you want to add. They will instantly appear on your Canvas!

Accessing Your Bookmarked Images
- In the Image Panel, you can quickly find your saved images by clicking the Bookmarked tab.

Filtering Images
- To narrow down the images you see, use the filter icon in the top right corner of the Image Panel. This lets you customize your view and find what you need faster.

- To close the panel, either click the icon again on the left or press the close tab on the side of the panel.

Full-Screen Search
- For a larger view and a full filter list, click Advanced Search button at the bottom of the panel (or More Shapes, from the Shapes panel).

Remove Empty Groups when opening Canvas
This feature “cleans up” any empty groups, including Attach & Flatten groups, that exist in a saved project upon re-opening that project on the Canvas. Before, one could still see the group listed in the Layers panel even if all objects in the group had been removed.

- Bookmarked images are displayed as unbookmarked
- For specific images, complete image is not visible on uploading to image upload screen
- Unable to Save after adding YouTube link to project description page
The last 6 weeks:
Over the last 6 weeks we've fixed 30 software defects, including the following priority field issues and reliability concerns:
- Print Then Cut mat preview is empty
- Print Then Cut image original artwork not available after changing image to a solid color
- Users able to save Cricut Access images as high-quality PNGs
- Pen operation – Continue button is not enabled on Mat Preview if Design Space goes into offline mode
- Edit button on cut screen is disabled after loading a smaller mat that originally specified on project preview
- Image upload process stuck in background removal screen
- Create Sticker project very slow to open
- Editing a text object causes it to change size and position on the Canvas
- Unhiding a multi-layered text object takes a long time and causes lag in performance.
- Text disappearing from Canvas
- Invalid text size, and editing text causes nothing to be selectable
- On removing background [of uploaded image], image appears as blank
- Text style change reverts Guide operation to Basic Cut
- Some SVG images are failing to load on the Canvas, and navigating through the app is causing crashes or making it unresponsive
- Duplicating a layer from a multi-layer image makes the layer separate from the set
- Prompt for pen color to load into machine is incorrect
- Insides of closed areas (such as middle of “O”) are filled up
- Uploaded image Delete button not working from My Stuff and Home page
