The Make screen, also known as the "cut screen," is the final step!
-
Edit - Selecting edit allows you to rearrange images on your mat/material, or change your Mirror setting.
-
Connect - It is at this point that Design Space establishes a connection with your machine via USB cable or Bluetooth. Design Space will be searching for the model of machine you selected on Canvas (which you can see in the top right of the screen). If you have multiple of the same model of machine, click to select the specific unit you wish to use. (Learn more about machine connection).
-
Set Base Material - Choose from Popular material settings, settings you have bookmarked, or select Browse all materials to find pre-programmed cut pressure and multi-cut settings for a wide range of materials. Once a base material is selected, there will be an option to adjust to more or less pressure, if desired.
-
Load tools and material - Based on material setting and operations on the mat, Design Space will instruct you about which tools and materials to load into your machine for each item in the load list. Design Space will prompt you when it is time to change tools if your project contains different Operations or pen/foil colors.
- Press Go - Once the machine has verified that mat or material have been loaded, Design Space will instruct you to press the "Go" button on your machine to begin.
Note: Options on this screen vary slightly depending on which cutting machine model you are using.
Turn Bleed on/off for Print Then Cut projects
Each image in Print Then Cut projects is given a bleed by default. The bleed is a small border around each image that allows for more precise cutting. Although we recommend printing with a bleed for best cut results, you do have the option to turn the bleed on or off.
Windows/Mac:
Select Send To Printer to then turn on/off the Bleed.
iOS:
- Select Make It from the Canvas.
- Tap on the mat options button on the top-left.
- Now you can turn on/off the Bleed option.
Note: The bleed may make the printed image look fuzzy or distorted, but this border will be trimmed off in the cutting process, yielding a precisely cut image.
Important: Print Then Cut is not available on Cricut Joy.
