2026-02-11 | Beta | Version 9.56
This Design Space for Desktop Beta release (v9.56) includes backend improvements and the following features and fixes.
Note: This section will be updated when this release goes to production.
New Project Modal
With this update, whenever you click the “New Project” button on Home or Canvas, you’ll be presented with this new modal where you can select a guided project flow or choose to design from scratch
Note: DTF Transfer guided flow currently available only in the US.
Fixed field issues
This release:
- Fixed a backend issue causing an unexpected event to appear after a user selects a project type from the project interstitial.
- Fixed an issue in the CAP upload flow causing the artist to be unable to save a project after completing the CAP upload process.
- Fixed a backend issue resulting in a Canvas UUID mismatch when a particular Canvas Saved event occurs.
- Fixed a backend issue causing a UUID to not change, and another to show as undefined upon customizing a Community project from the Home page.
- Fixed an issue on the Make screen which allowed an object to be positioned outside cuttable area when rearranging/rotating it.
- Fixed issue of “Continue” button being disabled after selecting “Without Mat/Card Mat” and selecting the option to apply to all future checkbox in Load Type modal.
- Fixed an issue causing objects placed outside of the Design area on Canvas to appear on the mat preview when clicking Make from the project details page.
The last 6 weeks:
Over the last 6 weeks we've fixed 37 software defects, including the following priority field issues and reliability concerns:
- Fixed an issue causing CAP artists to be unable to “Submit for Review” from Edit in Design Space when using Phrase-only subcategory selection.
- Fixed a backend issue related to guide flow project intents.
- Fixed a backend issue related to Canvas ID changes causing parent canvas id to not populate for subsequent events.
- Pen and Cut layers becoming misaligned when using Attach or Group functions has been fixed.
- All load method options being disabled on the material load popup has been fixed.
- Cardstock guided flow performance issue upon duplicating templates has been fixed.
- Issue causing us to not allow more than 11.75 width design area has been fixed.
- Issue of Smart Guide lines showing on an image instead of a sticker layer when aligning objects has been fixed.
- Fixed an issue causing mat preview to be blank when there’s an offset on the mat.
- Issue of applying an offset to a font replacing the font layer and then navigating to the mat preview showing a “Project preview could not load” error has been fixed.
- Fixed an issue causing “Cuttable area” text to be misplaced on the Prepare screen for Print Then Cut projects.
- Fixed issue of all project types (except Blank Canvas) getting “Project Unavailable” message when clicking on project name to open default project after adding a Template.
- Fixed an issue with the Insert Card project flow causing the right side padding of the design area to not maintain when the centered design area feature is enabled.
- Fixed text sizing issue of upon selecting entire number with the mouse, the cursor jumps intermittently resulting in numbers getting added randomly.
- Fixed an issue causing an autocompleted address to not be visible to users upon minimizing the Design Space window from the checkout screen.
- Switching environment from Live to Beta failing or being inconsistent has been fixed.
- Infinite spinner on uploading large ‘heic’ image file has been fixed.
- CAP Artist Upload – Infinite spinner on Details has been fixed.
- Fixed issue causing machine picker to be empty even if there are machines in the Recents section.
- Fixed an issue causing an Error Starting Design Space when navigating from Dev to Alpha build.

Updates to connection modals
We’ve updated text and behavior of connection modals on the Prepare and Make screens.

Right click menu revamp
The right click menu has been optimized, with tools in sections that make sense, so it’s easier to find what you’re looking for.
- Adaptive Actions: Displays smart, situation-specific tools to speed up editing.
- Foundational Actions: Provides essential, frequently used quick edit commands that you expect to find in the right click menu. Some tools in this section will always be there; others are dynamic based on the actions that are possible with the objects that are selected.
- Reserved Actions: Places less-used, advanced, or potentially high-impact tools in a place where one is less likely to active them accidentally.

Auto-Mirror added to Prepare screen in T-Shirt Flow
With this update, we will automatically toggle “Mirror” on when the user is on the mat preview, rather than waiting until a heat-transfer material setting is selected.
Live Preview improvements
This update adds the ability to rotate live preview models so users can better visualize their finished project.

This Design Space for Desktop release (v9.54) includes backend improvements and the following features and fixes.
Templates Panel: Remove Type-Ahead
We’ve removed type-ahead suggestions when performing a search in the Templates panel, so we don’t set an expectation of templates that are not actually available.
Enable Skip for Test Cut
With this update we’ve made the test cut in the new product setup optional — we allow users to skip the test cut so those who don’t wish to complete that step don’t feel stuck.

- Fixed issue of being unable to connect device in the machine picker after exiting the new product setup.
- Fixed an issue causing the mouse pointer to switch inconsistently between the default cursor and the hand pointer when the mouse hovers over areas of the chatbot outside the question mark.
- Fixed issue of “Save & Replace” button missing from the popup modal which is triggered after changing mature content settings.
- Issue of getting Save/Replace popup if user clicks Cancel in Load Type modal has been fixed.
- Fixed issue causing one to be redirected to blank Canvas after clicking “Make It” on a shared project, instead of proceeding directly to the Mat preview as expected.
- Mat size options being greyed out when “On Mat” option is selected has been fixed.
