Choose a platform below for instructions on how to connect with Member Care via Zoom Video successfully.
Joining Zoom Video call from a smart phone
- When the Cricut Representative you're speaking with would like to upgrade the call to a video, they will email you a Video Call Invitation. Tap on the Join Video Call button included in the email from the Cricut Representative to join the Zoom video call.
Note: You do NOT need to download and install the Zoom app or any other app. The video call will open in your web browser. The phone call audio will be disconnected and the audio will reconnect through the Zoom Video call.
- Enter your name in the window that appears. After adding your name, you will be able to tap “Join”.
- A new window will appear asking you to allow access to your Microphone and Video. Tap “Allow”. You must allow access to the microphone and camera to continue the video call with the Cricut Representative.
- If you accidentally choose “cancel” and you are not connected to the audio, you will see something similar to the screenshot below (a pop-up message that Zoom is unable to automatically connect your microphone, and some helps for connecting the audio).
- Close the pop-up window.
- Click on “Join Audio” in the bottom left corner to allow access to the microphone.
- Close the pop-up window.
Joining Zoom Video call from a computer
- When the Cricut Representative you're speaking with would like to upgrade the call to a video, they will email you a Video Call Invitation. Click the Join Video Call button in the email.
Note: You do NOT need to download and install the Zoom app or any other app. The video call will open in your web browser. The phone call audio will be disconnected and the audio will reconnect through the Zoom Video call.
- A browser window will open. Enter your name in the field, then select the Join button.
- The browser will ask you to allow access to the camera and microphone. To successfully join the video call you must allow Zoom to use your camera and microphone. When prompted, select the option to Allow. This will look a little differently depending on the browser being used. Here are some possible prompts:
- When both camera and microphone have been allowed, you will be able to continue your call via video.
Troubleshooting
I accidentally selected "Block". How do I fix this?
If you see the headset warning icon and "Join Audio" in Zoom, it means that you need to allow Zoom access to the microphone. If you click on it, you will see a message directing you to enable microphone access through your browser's address bar. (This is universal for both Windows and Mac on all browsers).
For Windows, if you do not see this popup or accidentally click on "block," or close the prompt, you can allow microphone access through the address bar this way:
| Click site information icon | Choose option to allow | |
| Chrome | ||
| Edge | ||
| Firefox |
For Safari on Mac, you can allow microphone access through Safari settings this way:
| Click on Safari in the upper left and open the settings for the Zoom website. | Once Settings is open, click on Ask next to Microphone and select Allow. |
For both Windows and Mac, once these steps have been completed, you should have audio for the Zoom video meeting. You may need to click on the Headset icon in the bottom left corner of the Zoom meeting to enable the changes you made for microphone allowances.
How to unmute microphone and manage the camera
