The Cricut Image Library contains over 1,000,000 images, with more being added all the time. You don’t need to own an image to try it out - Design Space allows you to design with an image before you buy so you can make sure it will work on the project. Additionally, you can upload your own images and cut them out with your Cricut machine.
Note: Available images may vary by region based on image licensing agreements.
- Sign in to Design Space and create a new project.
- Click Images on the left side of the Canvas.
- The Images panel will open next to the Canvas. Here you can search for an image, view your bookmarked images, or apply some popular filters. When you find an image you like, simply click to add it to the Canvas. Click Images again to dismiss the panel.
- To view full image sets and access more filter options – like Operation, Project type, Editable Images*, and Language – select Advanced Search at the bottom of the panel.

- Click the "+" on an image tile to add it to the Canvas.
- Clicking elsewhere on an image tile opens an image inspiration page where you can view more images like the selected one, see what it might look like applied to a variety of blanks, and view any image sets that contain that image.
- Once images are inserted on the Canvas, you can edit them as required for your project. A bounding box appears around your image when it is selected. You can click and drag each side or corner of the bounding box to resize the image.

Bookmark- Click the Bookmark icon to save the image to "My Stuff". You can find the images you have bookmarked by going to "My Stuff" and then Images.
Cut Only- Images that are made only to be cut out
Draw Only- Images that are made only to be drawn with a pen
Print then Cut- Images that are made to be printed on an inkjet printer and then inserted into the Cricut to have the outline cut.
Cricut Access Content - The image is free to use for those with an active Cricut Access subscription. This symbol will appear whether or not you have an active Cricut Access subscription.

- Tap the filter button to show available filters – like Operation, Project type, Editable Images*, and Language – that can help you narrow your search.

What are Editable Images?
If you’ve ever seen a beautiful image in Design Space and wished you could customize it to make it exactly the way you need it, we have good news for you!
Editable Images are designs with customization in mind – change the text to fit your occasion, add the names of your family and friends, include your inside joke, make it truly yours. Keep the font, text size, color, etc. – or make changes to fit exactly what you need.
You can also customize the parts of the image that appear in the layers panel – just double-click or double-tap on the item you want to change, then you can move, resize, change color, etc. to get it just the way you want it!
How do I find Editable Images?
The easiest way to find Editable Images is to select the Editable Images icon on the left side (Desktop) or bottom (mobile) of the Canvas, or select the Editable Text filter in the Images section.

You can also find Editable Images right alongside other images in Design Space – just look for the Editable Image icon at the bottom of the tile, and the light blue highlighted text in the image itself.
What’s the story with Editable Image prices?
If you are a Cricut Access subscriber, all Editable Images are free for you to use. If you are not a subscriber, you can use the small body of free Editable Images or purchase others individually.
Editable Image prices are determined by the image and font content that makes up the image. This is why different Editable Images have different prices. An Editable Image that uses three fonts will have a higher price than an Editable Image that uses just one font.
Editable Image prices may also change depending on how you edit the image. If you choose to change the font to one you own, your price will be lower because you already own that font. If you’re using a free Editable Image but you choose to change the font to one that is not free, your price will increase to include the cost of the new font.
What can I edit in Editable Images?
The quick answer is – just about everything!
The parts of the design specifically intended for editing will have a blue highlight. For example, if the Editable Image includes editable text, you will see a blue highlight on all text in the image that is editable (don’t worry – this highlight will disappear when you edit the text!).
While this text is specifically intended to be editable, meaning you can change the words, font, spacing, etc., to whatever you wish, you can also customize the other parts of the image that appear as a layer in the Layers panel – you can move, resize, change color, or use any other function that is available for the layer you are customizing!
Note: Editable Images come onto the Canvas as an Attached group which makes it easy to keep the design elements arranged properly. If you wish to change the color of different Cut elements of the image, you’ll first need to Detach the group. When you’re done customizing, just Attach all elements of the same color again before you select Make It.
How do I edit and cut Editable Images?
The parts of the design specifically intended for editing will have a blue highlight. For example, if the Editable Image includes editable text, you will see a blue highlight on all editable text in the image (don’t worry – this highlight will disappear when you edit the text!). Just double-click or double-tap on the text to enter edit mode, then type your new text just like you do when you add text to your projects. If your text is too long to fit, feel free to resize it. Want the text to wrap?* Go to the Align menu and select Wrap On. Want the text on one line? Go to the Align menu and select Wrap Off.
Change the font, change the color of text or individual elements that appear in the Layers panel, resize the text, resize image elements, and move things around as desired. Make it your own!
Cutting an Editable Image is just like cutting any other design – make sure things are attached the way you wish them to be, then select Make It to get started!

Do I need to ungroup or detach Editable Images before editing them ?
Nope! Just double-click or double-tap on the highlighted item to make the desired changes. You can even reposition items without having to Ungroup or Detach! The only time you’ll need to Detach is if you wish to change the color of different Cut objects in the image so that they populate to a separate mat when you select Make It.
Is there anything I should know about using Editable Images on Android?
Although Editable Images are available on Android along with the other platforms Cricut supports, there are some text features that are not yet available on Android (i.e. Text Wrapping, Curve Text). If your Editable Image has these text features included, you will see a message letting you know. You can choose Edit Anyway to edit the text and use the design in your projects – you just won’t see those features in the design when you make it.
Can I swap fonts or images with those that aren’t included in Cricut Access?
You absolutely can! Be advised that if you are a Cricut Access subscriber and you switch elements out for some that aren’t included in Cricut Access and which you don’t own, you’ll be prompted to purchase those new elements before cutting your project.
Do I have to edit an Editable Image in order to make it?
No, if you like it just the way it is, just select Make It! The blue highlight will be removed, and you can proceed to cut your project.
