The heat plate is composed of aluminum with a ceramic, non-stick coating. To clean the heat plate, you can use a commercially available iron cleaner.
In case you accidentally adhere iron-on film to the plate, get a thick rag and wipe it off quickly while it's still warm. Be sure not to touch the heat plate – it's hot!

Yes.
Does Cricut EasyPress 3 have dual voltage?
No. Every Cricut EasyPress model is manufactured with power requirements specific to the region in which it is sold.
Doesn’t HTV need a lot of pressure?
We’ve found that HTV (heat-transfer vinyl) needs even heat and a little pressure. Every Cricut EasyPress product delivers even heat, and you control the amount of pressure. For long-lasting transfers, a combination of heat, pressure, and time is needed. The balance of these items is what yields successful results. Refer to the Cricut Heat app for recommended settings.
How hard do I have to press?
Some applications call for "gentle" pressure, and some call for "firm" pressure.
- Firm pressure means pressing down with two hands and 15-20 lbs. of body weight.
- Gentle pressure means one hand with 5-10 lbs. of body weight.
In all cases, a waist-high table is recommended for applying the recommended pressure with ease.
Do I need to heat the back of the project as well?
Yes. For best results, we recommend applying heat to the back of the image for 10-15 seconds. Refer to the Cricut Heat app for specific instructions for your project.
Does Cricut EasyPress 3 need to be pressed in one spot or do I move it around (like an iron)?
For best results, gently press your Cricut EasyPress 3 in one spot for the recommended amount of time. If your iron-on image is larger than the heat plate, cover as much of the image as possible and press for the recommended time. Then, move the press over with a small overlap and press on the rest of the image for the recommended time. Moving the press around while applying an iron-on design may result in warping or smearing the design while the iron-on film is in its softened state.
Infusible Ink and sublimation projects, however, should receive a single application of heat. Applying heat in sections may result in unwanted marks in your finished project. For best results with Cricut EasyPress 3, we recommend keeping your Infusible Ink design smaller than the heat plate.
How do I know what temperature setting to use?
Use the Cricut Heat app to determine precise time and temperature settings for your project.

For what types of projects can I use Cricut EasyPress Mini?
Cricut EasyPress Mini is ideal for unusual objects like shoes and stuffed animals, and tight, hard-to-reach places like pockets and sleeves. The precision tip is great for working around seams, buttons, and zippers. Cricut EasyPress Mini is an ideal companion for other Cricut EasyPress models.
What settings should I use for my projects with Cricut EasyPress Mini?
Cricut EasyPress Mini has three heat settings: Low, Medium, or High. For recommended times and temperatures for your projects, see the Cricut EasyPress Heat Transfer Guide. To give you an idea:
Low — for lightweight, delicate, synthetic, or heat-sensitive fabrics; also great for more delicate heat-transfer vinyl, such as Foil Iron-On
Medium — for most fabrics and heat-transfer vinyl
High — for Infusible Ink projects and blanks
What are the temperatures of the different Cricut EasyPress Mini Settings?
Cricut EasyPress Mini is unique and works differently than our flagship Cricut EasyPress family or even a traditional heat press. Because you’ll typically be using lighter pressure and constant motion with this product, the Cricut EasyPress Mini heat plate includes an extra coating of protection that lets it easily glide over your material's surface. This type of movement allows each of the 3 heat settings to accommodate multiple heat-transfer ranges. Here’s the general use guide:
Low – Use with sensitive base materials or heat-transfer materials that transfer between 255°F (125°C) – 295°F (145°C)
Medium – Use with most base materials or heat-transfer materials that transfer between 300°F (150°C) – 355°F (180°C)
High – Use with Infusible Ink materials, heavy-duty base materials, and other heat-transfer materials that transfer between 360°F (185°C) – 400°F (205°C)
Note: Cricut EasyPress Mini temperatures do not fluctuate within these ranges. Rather, each setting has been tested and qualified to work with materials that typically press in a heat press at those temperatures.
Does Cricut EasyPress Mini work differently than other Cricut EasyPress models?
Cricut EasyPress Mini features the even, edge-to-edge heat that all Cricut EasyPress models have, but there are a few differences. Cricut EasyPress Mini features one button with three simple settings — Low, Medium, and High. You'll need to use a separate timer to count down during application. To keep the pressure light and your blanks free from press marks, Cricut EasyPress Mini is moved continuously over the whole design during the transfer process. Its compact design fits comfortably in the palm of your hand so it's easy to maneuver. Our recommended time and temperature settings have been optimized with movement in mind, so for precise settings for your project, always refer to the Heat Transfer Guide.
How small and large of a design can I transfer with Cricut EasyPress Mini?
Cricut EasyPress Mini is perfect for transferring small designs onto unique objects and for working within tight or hard-to-reach places. This can include the smallest area you can reach with the precision tip up to a surface area that is about 2X the heat plate.
Recommended maximum sizes
- Iron-on
- 4" W x 3.5" L or 1.7" W x 5.25" L
- Infusible Ink
- 2.75" W x 2.75" L or 1.625" W x 5" L
Working with a larger design? Consider the 6" x 7" Cricut EasyPress 2 or larger.
How do I ensure that all areas of my design get the needed heat when using Cricut EasyPress Mini?
First, if working with iron-on vinyl (HTV), be sure the area is no more than 4" W x 3.5" L or 1.7" W x 5.25" L. If working with Infusible Ink, keep it less than 2.75" W x 2.75" L or 1.625" W x 5" L. Move the press from side to side as you work your way from one end of the design to the other. Allow the heat plate to extend approximately 0.5" (13 mm) beyond all edges of the design. Allowing the heat plate to extend beyond the edge ensures that design gets a complete transfer.
Why do I need to move Cricut EasyPress Mini around? How fast do I need to move it?
As we tested Cricut EasyPress Mini, we saw that most users preferred to move the unit during transfer, so we've optimized our recommended settings with movement in mind and we've added an additional layer of ceramic coating to the heat plate so it glides over your material with ease. Moving the unit during transfer also helps you keep the pressure light, preventing press marks in your base material. Regarding speed, just use a continuous motion similar to how you use a household iron or computer mouse.
How does Cricut EasyPress Mini differ from a tack iron?
Cricut EasyPress Mini features even heating across its heat plate and optimized settings for a wide variety of base materials, iron-on vinyls, and Infusible Ink projects.
Does Cricut EasyPress Mini have an auto shutoff feature?
Yes. Cricut EasyPress Mini automatically shuts off 13 minutes after its last movement. A warning beep sounds when it is about to shut off.
