System Requirements - Design Space

"Unsupported / Incompatible Operating System" Warning

If your Windows system meets all of these requirements, including operating system version, and you're being prompted to upgrade your operating system, you may be running Design Space in compatibility mode for Windows 8 or earlier. To resolve this: 

1.  Right-click the Design Space icon on your desktop (or find it in the Start menu > Open file location > right-click).
2. Select "Properties."
3. In the Properties window, select the Compatibility tab.
4. Under "Compatibility Mode" uncheck the box that says, "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" to disable compatibility mode. 
5. Click "Apply," then "OK" to save the changes. 
6. Close and reopen Design Space to ensure it runs with the updated settings. 

Note: Some features are not supported with minimum system requirements. Higher system specs, such as Windows 10 64-bit, are required. Visit this article for instructions from Microsoft on how to upgrade Windows.

Important: If your system is still running Windows 7 or Windows 8, your operating system is no longer supported. Visit this article (Windows 7) or this article (Windows 8) for instructions from Microsoft on how to upgrade.

Windows systems running in S Mode are not supported at this time. Visit support.microsoft.com for more information.

The Design Space version number currently in use may be found by selecting the menu in the upper right, then select Settings > General > About Design Space. 

In the same area, select Check for updates to see if there is a more current version to install. 

1. Open the Cricut Design Space App and sign in.
2. Open the app menu in the top-left of the screen (shows your initials or profile picture).
3. Select About and you will see the version number listed there. You may need to close the notification about Cricut Access or scroll down. 

To check for available app updates:

1. Open the App Store app on your device. 
2. Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen. 
3. Scroll to see pending updates and release notes for the apps installed on your device. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app.
4. You can also search the App Store for Cricut Design Space, then select it in the list of search results. If an update is available, there will be a button titled Update for you to select and proceed to update the app.

2. At the top right, tap the profile icon. 
3. Tap Manage apps & device > Manage.
4. Tap the app you want to update.
   • Tip: Apps with an update available are labeled "Update available." 
5. Tap Update.
6. You can also search the Google Play Store for Cricut Design Space, then select it in the list of search results. If an update is available, there will be a button titled Update for you to select and proceed to update the app.
