If you are experiencing issues with power to your Cricut machine, please select your machine from the links below and follow the recommended troubleshooting steps.

Cricut Expression 2
- Keeps flipping to the Welcome Screen and/or restarting
- Contact Member Care through one of the options below for further assistance.
- Machine will not power on
- Ensure that the plug is secure in the power port on the machine, in the power adapter, and in the wall outlet. If the cord is securely inserted at all points, proceed to step 2.
- Try connecting the power cord to a different wall outlet. If this does not resolve the issue, proceed to step 3.
- Check the power adapter in the power cord, and make sure that the green light on the box is lit up. If it is not lit up, the cord will need to be replaced. If the light on the box is lit up, contact Member Care through one of the options below for further assistance.
Cricut Imagine
- The machine will not power on
- Ensure that the plug is secure in the power port on the machine, in the power adapter, and in the wall outlet. If the cord is securely inserted at all points, proceed to step 2.
- Try connecting the power cord to a different wall outlet. If this does not resolve the issue, proceed to step 3.
- Check the power adapter in the power cord, and make sure that the green light on the box is lit up. If it is not lit up, please contact Member Care through one of the options below for further assistance.
Cricut Gypsy
- Gypsy power port has broken
- Gypsy will not hold a charge
- Gypsy will not power on/shuts off unexpectedly
- Gypsy power port has broken
- If the power port on the Gypsy is broken, a repair is the only solution.
- At this time, however, Gypsy repairs are not available due to a lack of supply of the components needed to repair the machines.
- If you need to uplink the cartridges on it to your Cricut account for use with your Explore or Maker machine, please contact Member Care through one the options below for assistance.
- Gypsy will not hold a charge
- Connect your Gypsy to the power supply. The machine should power on, but give a red light; this just indicates that it needs to be charged. If it will not hold a charge with the current power cord and outlet, proceed to step 2.
- Try connecting the power cord to a different power outlet and try to charge the Gypsy. If it does not hold a charge after charging in the new outlet, proceed to step 3.
- Try a different power cord. If you do not have another Gypsy power cord to try, please contact Member Care through one of the options below for assistance. If trying another power cord does not help, proceed to step 4.
- A charging port repair, which includes a new battery, is required. However, Gypsy repairs are no longer available due to a lack of supply of the components needed to repair the machines. If you need to repair the Gypsy so that you can uplink the cartridges on it to your Cricut account for use with your Explore or Maker machine, please contact Member Care through one the options below for assistance.
- Gypsy will not power on/shuts off unexpectedly
- Connect your Gypsy to the power supply. The machine should power on, but give a red light; this just indicates that it needs to be charged. Charge it for a while. Then, if it will still not power on, or shuts off unexpectedly, proceed to step 2.
- Try connecting the power cord to a different power outlet and try to charge the Gypsy. If it will still not power on, or shuts off unexpectedly, proceed to step 3.
- Try a different power cord. If you do not have another Gypsy power cord to try, please contact Member Care through one of the options below for assistance. If trying another power cord does not help, proceed to step 4.
- A new battery and possibly a charging port repair, which includes a new battery, is required. However, Gypsy repairs are no longer available due to a lack of supply of the components needed to repair the machines. If you need to uplink the cartridges on it to your Cricut account for use with your Explore or Maker machine, please contact Member Care through one the options below for assistance.
Cricut Personal, Cricut Create, Cricut Cake, Cricut Cake Mini, Cricut Expression
- The machine is receiving power but does not start up (roller bars do not move)
- The machine will not power on
- The machine will not stay powered on
- The machine is receiving power but does not start up (roller bars do not move)
- Determine if the machine is in "Firmware Mode." When the Power button, Cut button, and buttons on the left of the keypad are lit up, this means that the Cricut may be in Firmware Mode. Perform a Hard Reset on the machine.
- If steps 2 does not resolve the issue, please contact Member Care through one of the options below for further assistance.
- The machine will not power on
- Ensure that the plug is secure in the power port on the machine, in the power adapter, and in the wall outlet. If the cord is securely inserted at all points, proceed to step 2.
- Check the power adapter in the power cord, and make sure that the green light on the box is lit up. If it is not lit up, the cord will need to be replaced. If the light on the box is lit up, proceed to step 3.
- Try connecting the power cord to a different wall outlet. If this does not resolve the issue, proceed to step 4.
- Try using another power cord in case there is an issue with your current power cord.
- If the new power cord does not resolve the issue, please contact Member Care through one of the options below for further assistance.
- The machine will not stay powered on
- Ensure that the plug is secure in the power port on the machine, in the power adapter, and in the wall outlet. If the cord is securely inserted at all points, proceed to step 2.
- Check the power adapter in the power cord, and make sure that the green light on the box is lit up. If it is not lit up, the cord will need to be replaced. If the light on the box is lit up, proceed to step 3.
- Try connecting the power cord to a different wall outlet. If this does not resolve the issue, proceed to step 4.
- Give the Cricut a break; turn it off and allow it to rest for about 10 minutes each hour. If this does not help, proceed to step 5.
- Try using another power cord in case there is an issue with your current power cord.
