- Create your design in Design Space.

Operation tells your machine how to interact with your materials. When you want a line or other object to use the Scoring Tool, select the Operation menu and choose Score.

Tip: The line from the Shapes menu is free and can easily be changed to a Score line for use in your projects.
- Select both the Score line and the Cut object, then use Attach to fasten your Score item to the Cut layer.

- Click Make. Notice that, by using Attach, our Cut layer and Score layer stay together.

- Click Continue/Next.
- Choose a material setting.
- Place your material on the mat. If needed, trim your material first so that it fits within the adhesive area of your machine mat.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to load tools into your machine. The operations you chose for your design elements allow Design Space to prompt you when it’s time to switch between tools.
- To insert the Scoring Tool:
- Open the Tool Clamp.
- Grasp the Premium Fine Point Cutting Tool by the tab and pull it upwards out of the Tool Clamp. CAUTION: Cutting tools are sharp. Use extreme caution.
- Drop the Scoring Tool into the Tool Clamp – when properly inserted the top rim of the scoring tool rests flush with the top of the Tool Clamp.
- Close the clamp.
- When prompted, load mat into the machine to begin.
- When prompted, open the Tool Clamp, remove the Scoring Tool, insert the Cutting Tool, and close the clamp. Select Go to continue making your project.
- When the cut is complete, select Unload.
- Remove the material from the mat and fold along the score line.
