How to use Cricut Glue Gun
- Load a Cricut Mini Glue Stick or other compatible mini glue stick into the glue stick chamber from the back of the glue gun – when fully inserted, you can see the glue stick pass through the window and into the chamber at the front of the glue gun.
- Plug Cricut Glue Gun into a compatible wall outlet. The LED light on top of the glue gun will turn orange, indicating the glue gun is heating up.
- Wait until the LED indicator on top of the glue gun turns green – when the light turns green, your glue is ready to go. Do not try to dispense glue until the light turns green.
- Pull the trigger to dispense melted glue onto your project material, then press your item onto the intended material/surface until the glue sets. CAUTION: Glue gun tip and melted glue will be hot. Do not touch glue gun tip or melted glue.
Note: Hot glue cools and sets quickly. Wait to apply glue until you’re ready to adhere pieces together. Otherwise, the glue may set to the point where it adds unwanted dimension to your project or solidifies before you can adhere pieces together.

Troubleshooting
My glue gun turned off spontaneously – why?
This is the auto-shutoff safety feature. Cricut Glue Gun will shut off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity. To reheat, simply pull the trigger.
How do I get leftover glue out of the nozzle?
No need to remove residual glue from the nozzle. The next time you use Cricut Glue Gun, that glue will melt as the glue gun heats.
The glue is not adhering properly to my material. What am I doing wrong?
Ensure you’re adhering pieces together quickly after applying glue - hot glue cools and sets quickly!
Ensure the material or surface to which you’re apply the glue is clean and dry. Dusty, greasy, and wet surfaces will prevent glue from adhering. Additionally, ensure you’re using materials suitable for hot glue. Paper, fabric, most plastics, and wood work well with hot glue. Hot glue does not adhere well to smooth, non-porous surfaces.
Glue is not dispensing when I pull the trigger, or the trigger doesn’t work. What do I do?
Ensure glue stick is fully inserted in glue gun. Insert glue stick into chamber from the back of the glue gun and push it forward into the chamber at the front of the glue gun until you feel resistance. Then, allow glue gun to heat fully – the LED light on top of the glue gun will turn green when the glue is ready to dispense.
If the light is green, and the glue stick is fully inserted, but the trigger mechanism isn’t working or glue won’t dispense when the trigger is pulled, contact Member Care for assistance.
The light on my Cricut Glue Gun isn’t working. What can I do?
The light will turn off when auto-shutoff has occurred. Pull the trigger to start reheating the gun.
If this doesn’t help, attempt connecting to a different compatible wall outlet. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, contact Member Care for assistance.
My Cricut Glue Gun is not heating up. What can I try?
Try a different compatible wall outlet. If the issue persists when plugged in to a different outlet, contact Member Care for assistance.
It seems like my Cricut Glue Gun is getting too hot. What should I do?
Cricut Glue Gun is designed to prevent it from heating beyond 356°F/180°C. However, if Cricut Glue Gun seems to be overheating, unplug it immediately and contact Member Care for assistance.
