System Requirements - Cricut Craft Room

The Cricut Craft Room design software is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems and requires a high-speed internet connection. Make sure your computer and internet connection meet these minimum requirements:

 

Windows OS:

  • Processor

    • Intel Pentium III (1GHz or faster)
    • Intel Pentium 4 (2GHz or faster)
  • Microsoft Windows OS (including 64-bit editions)
    • Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3
    • Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 2
    • Windows 7
    • Windows 8 and later may require that you run Craft Room in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Click here for instructions.  
  • 512 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended)
  • Available USB Port

 

Mac OS:

  • Intel Core Duo 1.83 GHz or faster processor
  • Mac OS X v10.7.5 or later
  • 512 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended)
  • Available USB Port

 

Display:

  • Minimum 1024 x 768 screen resolution

 

Software:

  • Internet Explorer 9.0, Firefox, Chrome, Safari
  • Adobe AIR 21.0.0.215

 

Internet: 

  • Broadband connection (Satellite broadband is not supported)
  • 1.5 Mbps Downstream, 896 Kbps Upstream
  • Free Cricut.com account

 

You will also need a USB A/B cable to connect your Cricut machine to your computer.

 

Running Cricut Craft Room in Compatibility Mode

Windows 8 and later may require that you run Craft Room in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Here's how: 

  • Right-click on the Craft Room icon on your desktop, or find it in your Programs folder and right-click on it. Select "Properties."
  • Select the "Compatibility" tab at the top of the window that appears. 
  • Put a check mark in the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for," then select Windows 7 from the drop-down menu. 
  • Click "Apply."
  • Then attempt to access Cricut Craft Room again.
