Everyday Iron-On Mesh Instructions

Cutting Everyday Iron-On Mesh with a Cricut Machine

1. Place Iron-On sheet, liner side down, onto Cricut StandardGrip cutting mat.
2. Adjust your machine settings according to the Iron-on Kiss Cut Guide below. (A kiss cut is a cut that only goes through the iron-on film and leaves the liner intact).
3. Select and Size the images(s) you want to cut. Be sure to flip all images prior to cutting so they appear backward (mirror image).
4. Load mat into the machine and cut image(s).

Note: Due to the mesh pattern of Everyday Iron-On we recommend cutting images at 3" or larger, and intricate images should be avoided. 

Application Instructions

Note: These instructions are for using a household iron with Everyday Iron-On Mesh. Use the Cricut Heat Guide for recommended EasyPress settings.

The application is an important step when it comes to extending the life of embellished items.

• Make sure you are following the full application instructions. It is important to pre-heat, heat, and post-heat your images for the recommended amount of time as this will help the iron-on material set into the fibers of the item onto which it is being ironed.
• Be sure you are applying the iron-on material to a clean garment or item.
  • Pre-wash the item before application. Many companies treat clothes with chemicals that make the colors look more vibrant on display in stores. These chemicals need to be removed before applying iron-on. Avoid using fabric softener when pre-washing materials.
  • Pre-washing the item before the application will also eliminate any shrinking that may occur.
• Do not layer any iron-on material over Holographic, Holographic Sparkle, Foil, Glitter, or flocked iron-on. The material may seem to iron-on fine, but when washed, the material on top of these will begin to peel away. However, Holographic, Holographic Sparkle, Foil, Glitter, and flocked iron-on may be layered on top of Everyday Iron-On Mesh.

Tip: To ensure best results, test a piece of Cricut Iron-on in an inconspicuous part of the item prior to application.

1. Remove negative Cricut Iron-on film, leaving only the desired cut image on the liner (this process is known as weeding). Using the weeding tool found in the Cricut Tool Kit can make this process faster and easier.
2. If using an EasyPress, refer to the Cricut Heat Guide for time, temperature, and peel temperature recommendations depending on your base material and pressing surface.
3. If using a household iron, use the Cotton/Linen setting (generally the highest temperature setting). Make sure the steam setting is OFF for steam irons.
4. Preheat the area of the material in which you will be applying your cut image for 10-15 seconds.
5. Place the weeded image, liner side up, onto the preheated material. Apply medium pressure with the iron for 25-30 seconds.
6. Flip the material over and apply medium pressure with the iron to the back of the material for an additional 25-30 seconds.
7. Use a cool peel to remove the liner.

Tip: Always use a press cloth (or a clean cotton cloth, such as a dishtowel) over the top of your material when applying heat with a household iron. This will protect your base material from the heat of the iron.

Application Tips

• Ironing boards with light cushioning are recommended (a firm surface is recommended over significant padding for best results).
• Iron with a press cloth or piece of cotton fabric (such as a dishtowel) over liner side of the material to protect it from the heat of the iron.
• Do not layer on top of Holographic, Holographic Sparkle, Foil, Glitter, Glitter Mesh, or flocked iron-on.
• If a portion of the image isn't sticking, replace the liner over the film and re-iron the piece with the iron tip for 10 seconds, moving it back and forth with firm pressure directly over loose edges.
• Using the Cotton/Linen setting of the iron provides the best results for most materials. More delicate materials can be protected by using a press cloth or piece of cotton fabric, such as a dishtowel.
• For steam irons, turn the steam setting OFF when applying Cricut Iron-on.

Care Instructions

• Wait 24 hours before washing embellished item.
• For longest life, wash and dry the embellished item inside-out.
• If there are areas of the Iron-on material which seem to be coming off after being washed, simply re-iron the material in place following the complete application instructions.
