If Design Space for Desktop isn't loading or has a blank white screen this can easily be resolved by clearing the application cache.
- Confirm Design Space for Desktop is closed.
- Open File Explorer
- Select This PC from the left-hand pane, then select Local Disk (C:), then select the Users folder.
- Open your user folder. The name of the folder will change with every computer and user.
- Open the .cricut-design-space folder.
- Open the LocalData folder.
- Select all files within the LocalData folder, then use Shift+Delete to permanently delete those items. Make sure they are permanently deleted by checking your Recycle Bin. If they are found in there, delete them from the Recycle bin as well.
- Launch Design Space for Desktop. Select View in the top left-hand corner of the system menu, then select Force Reload.
- This should resolve the issue. If further assistance is needed, please contact Member Care.
- Close Design Space by selecting the words Cricut Design Space in the top left corner of your screen, Quit Cricut Design Space.
- The word should now say Finder! If it does not, open the Finder to make that option appear.
- With Finder on the menu bar at the top of the screen, you should also see the Go option. Select Go and then Home.

Here you should see some of your user files. Hold down the command and shift keys, and while holding them down press the period key. You should see that as you press period, some files will toggle between visibility and being hidden.

With the files toggled on, open the grayed out .cricut-design-space folder.
- Open the LocalData folder.
- Select all files within the LocalData folder and drag them to the Trash. Then empty the Trash.
- Launch Design Space for Desktop, then force reload the application. To force reload, select View in the top left-hand corner of the system menu, then select Force Reload.
- This should resolve the issue. If further assistance is needed, please review our system requirements and contact Member Care.
It would be good to have clarification at the top of this article that this should only be done when specifically told to do so by support line. I was told that the software team needs this info and there are very few times we would need to do this.
