Cricut Genuine Leather can be cut with Cricut Maker, Cricut Explore, and Cricut Venture machines. Select a tab below to view information and recommendations for cutting with each machine.
Tip: For best results cutting Cricut Genuine Leather use a clean cutting mat and a sharp blade.
Note: These instructions do not apply to garment and tooling leathers, which can only be cut with Cricut Maker machines. Select these links to find instructions for garment and tooling leather.
- Place Cricut Genuine Leather face down onto clean Cricut StrongGrip (purple) cutting mat.
- Create a firm bond between the leather and the cutting mat by burnishing with a scraper or rolling a brayer over the leather.
- Move star wheels all the way to the right.
- Select and size images in Cricut Design Space and load the mat into the machine.
- Select Browse All Materials and choose Genuine Leather.
- Follow prompts in Cricut Design Space to complete the cut.
- Before unloading the mat, check the material to ensure it is cut all the way through.
- Place Cricut Genuine Leather face down onto clean Cricut StrongGrip (purple) cutting mat.
- Create a firm bond between the leather and the cutting mat by burnishing with a scraper or rolling a brayer over the leather.
- Select and size images in Cricut Design Space and load the mat into the machine.
- Turn the Smart Set Dial to Custom. Then select Browse All Materials in Design Space and choose Genuine Leather.
- Follow prompts in Cricut Design Space to complete the cut.
- Before unloading the mat, check the material to ensure it is cut all the way through.
- Place Cricut Genuine Leather face down onto clean Cricut Strong Grip Performance (purple) cutting mat.
- Create a firm bond between the leather and the cutting mat by burnishing with a scraper or rolling a brayer over the leather.
- Select and size images in Cricut Design Space and load the mat into the machine.
- Select Browse All Materials and choose Genuine Leather.
- Follow prompts in Design Space to complete the cut.
- Before unloading the mat, check the material to ensure it is cut all the way through.
