Cricut Transfer Tape was specifically designed to make transferring vinyl designs to project surfaces a cinch. The clear film with grid makes it simple to position your design right where you want it.

Choosing the right Transfer Tape is easy:

Transfer Tape and Value Transfer Tape	Linerless Transfer Tape and Value Linerless Transfer Tape	StrongGrip Transfer Tape
For use with most vinyl types, especially those with a smooth, non-textured finish.	Similar to regular Transfer Tape, but with half the waste! For use with most vinyl types, especially those with a smooth, non-textured finish. To learn more about Cricut Linerless Transfer Tape see instructions and FAQ below.	For vinyl that has a textured finish, such as Glitter Vinyl, Shimmer Vinyl, and True Brushed Vinyl.

Important: StrongGrip Transfer Tape is too strong for use with other vinyl types.

What you need

Vinyl cut, weeded and ready to transfer
Transfer Tape or Strong Grip Transfer Tape (see table above to choose the right one for your vinyl type)
Scraper or other burnishing tool

Apply Transfer Tape

Watch it done:

Use Cricut Transfer Tape (Less than 2 min)
Apply long lengths of vinyl with Transfer Tape (~ 2 min):
- Welcome sign
- Wall decal

Transfer Tape with Liner
Linerless Transfer Tape

Peel liner from Transfer Tape.
Attach a small area of Transfer Tape to your design. This can either be the center or one end of your design.
Use a Scraper to burnish Transfer Tape onto your design, working outward from where you attached the small area.
Turn your vinyl over and burnish the back side.

Small Designs

Weed your design, then cut a piece of Transfer Tape the size of your vinyl design from the roll. For Value Linerless Transfer tape, you can just tear off a piece along the perforation.
Next, cover your entire design with Transfer Tape, using a Scraper tool to burnish (firmly press and smooth) the tape over your design.
Flip to burnish the backside.

Large Designs

Weed your design, then unroll about an inch of Transfer Tape.
Stick the unrolled section of tape onto your workspace, then align your design beneath the Transfer Tape.
Keeping your fingers inside the roll, unroll enough tape to cover the entire design. For Value Linerless Transfer Tape, unroll carefully so you don’t accidentally tear the tape along the perforations.
Burnish, then cut or tear the tape off the roll.
Flip to burnish the backside.

Apply to project surface

Make sure project surface is clean and dry. Use rubbing alcohol to clean plastic and glass surfaces.
Peel vinyl liner away from Transfer Tape and design.
- If your vinyl doesn't separate from the liner, simply burnish liner back onto the vinyl and peel away again.
Attach a small area of design onto your surface. This can either be the center or one end of your design.
Use a Scraper to burnish design onto your surface, working outward from where you attached the small area.
Peel Transfer Tape away from design.
- Work carefully. If design peels up with Transfer Tape, simply burnish Transfer Tape and vinyl back down to the project surface and peel away again.
- For best results, peel Transfer Tape at an acute angle.

FAQ

Can I re-use transfer tape?

We do not recommend reusing Transfer Tape as you may not get satisfactory transfers. This is because the tape has reduced stickiness after each use.

What is the difference between Cricut Transfer Tape and Cricut Value Transfer Tape?

Cricut Value Transfer Tape meets Cricut high standards, we’ve just made a few adjustments in order to offer you some cost savings: the packaging is minimal and the material is a little thinner but it’s just as great as other Cricut Transfer Tape products. Additionally, with Value Linerless Transfer Tape we’ve added perforations every 6 in (15.2 cm).

Why does Value Linerless Transfer Tape have perforations every 6 in (15.2 cm) but the regular Linerless Transfer Tape does not?

This is simply because the Value material was developed later than the original Linerless Transfer Tape, and we were able to add this new feature. We understand it might not make sense that the lower-priced Value material has an extra feature, but we did not want to hold this feature back, so we added it to this product.

Can I buy Value Transfer Tape in a retail store? Where can I buy it locally?

Cricut Value Transfer Tape is sold online only, which helps us offer such low prices. For example, there is no retail packaging; just simple bags or labels.

Why is there no label on my roll of Value material?

Great question! To give you the best price and to minimize waste, rolls of Value Transfer Tape come with minimal packaging; just a simple black and white label. This label is not only removable but is reusable to close the roll after you cut off some material. Similarly, if you ordered 12 in x 12 in (30.5 cm x 30.5 cm) sheets of Value Transfer Tape, those come in a plain envelope with a black and white label.

Will Linerless Transfer Tape work with Shimmer, Glitter, or textured vinyl?

No, use Cricut StrongGrip Transfer Tape for those materials. StrongGrip Transfer Tape is not available without a liner.
