Free in Design Space
Cricut occasionally makes some digital images free to use for a limited period of time. To find these images in Design Space, follow the steps below:
Design Space for Desktop
- Sign in to Design Space.
- Select New Project.
- From your Canvas, select Images on the design panel to the left.
- Select Free under Highlighted Categories. You can know you are in the right place when you see the "Category: Free" option in the top left of the screen.
Tip: Selecting "Category: Free" in the top left corner on this screen will bring you back to the main image menu.
Design Space for iOS/Android
- Launch Design Space App.
- Create a new project.
- Tap Images from the bottom navigation.
- Select the filter option in the top right corner.
- Select Free (iOS) or toggle the switch next to Free (Android). When you return to the Image screen, all free images will be displayed.

Note: Remember, you can only cut this content for free for a limited time!
How to find content that came free with a Cricut account or machine
Once you have completed the New Product Setup, the free digital content that came with your machine will automatically be added to your account. Follow these steps to locate the free content that came with your Cricut machine:
- Sign in to Design Space.
- Select My Stuff.
- Free Projects:
- Select Projects.
- Select the filter Ready-to-Make to view your free projects.
- Free Images:
- Select Images.
- Select Purchased to view your free images.
- Free Fonts:
- Go to the Canvas screen by selecting New Project.
- Select Text on the design panel to the left of the Canvas.
- From the new Text Edit bar at the top of the screen select the Font drop-down menu.
- The fonts that you own or that are free will not have a price under them.
- While in Cricut fonts select the Filter icon.
- Turn on the Purchased filter to see your free fonts.
- Free Patterns:
- Insert an image or text.
- Change the Operation type to Print Then Cut.
- Select the color swatch and choose Pattern from the Print Type menu.

Note: Images, fonts, and patterns that are included with the Cricut Access trial will be flagged with the green Cricut Access "a" and can be used for free until the trial expires. Patterns are only available on Windows & Mac at this time.
How to find purchased image sets (or linked cartridges)
Image Sets are groups of images in Design Space that make it easy to find the style or subject of image you want for your projects.
For instructions on how to find your purchased image sets and linked cartridges, select a platform below.
- Go to the Canvas screen in Design Space and select Images on the left.
- Select Image Sets under Highlighted Categories to look at our entire collection of image sets.
- If you arrived at a different image search page, look for Category in the top left. Select Category to return to the main Images page.

- Once you are on the Image Sets page, you can find your specific images by using the filters on the left. Select My Stuff > Purchased, and you will see all the image sets that you own appear in the results area.
- Select an image set to see the contents. Select Back in the top left corner to return to the Image Sets list.
- Start a new project, then tap Images at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the filter in the upper right. Choose Categories, then select Image Sets under Highlighted Categories.
- Select the Ownership > Purchased filter. Then, tap the back arrow to view the list of image sets you own.
- Scroll to browse your image sets, or type keywords in the search field to find a specific image set. Tap on an image set to view all included images and add them to your Canvas.
- Start a new project, then tap Image at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the filter in the upper right. Tap Image Category, then select Image Sets under Highlighted Categories.
- Select the My Stuff > Purchased filter, then the back arrow. The list loads and shows you just those image sets that you own.
- Scroll to browse your image sets, or type keywords in the search field to find a specific image set. Tap on an image set to view all included images and add them to your Canvas.
I feel like we can come back and make these 3 flows into 1.
How to find content I can use with Design Space. It seems like most people wouldn't want to read all 3 flows and scroll past mobile and desktop for both.
