Firmware updates ensure your Cricut EasyPress 2 or Cricut EasyPress 3 has the latest-and-greatest feature enhancements. Select an option below for instructions.
Cricut Easy Press 3 firmware is updated through the Cricut Heat app on your iOS or Android mobile device.

- Plug Cricut EasyPress 3 unit into a compatible wall outlet.
- Press the Power Button to turn on.
- Once powered on, ensure Cricut EasyPress 3 is paired with your mobile device.
- Open the Cricut Heat app and sign in.
- If the unit has been previously set up, select your press from My Presses and any available firmware updates will begin automatically.
What you need
- Cricut EasyPress 2
- Windows or Mac computer with these system requirements
- Micro-USB data cable
Important: One end of the cable has a USB Type A connector, the other end has a USB Micro B connector, which is flatter, narrower, and slightly tapered. A compatible cable comes with many mobile devices, so you may already have one you can use. The cable must be capable of data transfer.
How to update
- Cricut EasyPress 2 firmware is updated through Design Space for Desktop. If you don't already have Design Space installed on your computer, navigate to design.cricut.com and follow the on-screen prompts to download and install Design Space for Desktop.
- Launch Design Space for Desktop, and sign in with your Cricut ID. If you don't already have a Cricut account, follow the on-screen prompts to create one.
- Once signed in, select the menu in the top right. Then, select Settings > Machines > Update Firmware: Start.
- Select Set up a heat press, then Continue.
- Select Cricut EasyPress 2.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to:
- Plug in Cricut EasyPress 2 to a wall outlet
- Confirm Cricut EasyPress 2 is powered off
- Connect USB cable to the press and to the computer
- Once Cricut EasyPress 2 is connected to the computer, Design Space will detect the machine. Click Update.
- If there is a firmware update available, the update will begin.
- When the update is complete Cricut EasyPress 2 will power beep and power off, and you'll receive a message that the firmware update is complete. Select Done.
Troubleshooting
"No Cricut device found" or numbered error messages while attempting to update Cricut EasyPress 2 firmware most often occur when:

The Micro-USB cable being used is not capable of data transfer

The Micro-USB cable is not securely fitted into the USB ports
Perform these steps to resolve this issue:

Ensure the USB cable is securely fitted into the Cricut EasyPress 2 USB port and the computer USB port.

Try connecting to a different USB port on the computer.

Use a different Micro-USB cable that is capable of data transfer, such as the one that comes with many mobile devices for completing device updates.
